What is the history of the hotel? When was the hotel founded?

The hotel is built on a meadow between Hýľov and Zlatá Idka, where it stands on the former land of the Pioneer Camp of the ČSD. The Pavlík family bought the area and started to improve it in 2000. The first part of the buildings of the former pioneer camp was converted into a family house, an orchard and gardens. Subsequently, we began to focus on the redevelopment and extension of the wellness area, the hotel part and the multifunctional playground. The shape of this family hotel today has been achieved through perseverance, determination, an eye for quality and detail, and the belief that one day our family will be able to share this oasis of peace and tranquillity with others.

What is the story behind the hotel's name?

nce upon a time, more than 777 years ago, in a forest near a beautiful meadow, lived many small singing birds known as hýľov. People often visited the forest to pick mushrooms, and among them was Stefan, who loved the place so much that he built a small house there for his family. He even began to call himself Stefan Hýľ. Soon, more people moved in with Stefan, and a village was formed, which they named Hýľov. Stefan's son, Tomáš, often observed the birds dancing around him. One day, he noticed one bird with something very unusual. As he approached it, he saw golden powder on its feathers. That night, Tomáš couldn’t sleep due to the golden-feathered hýľ bird, and the next morning, he gathered the best seeds to prepare for his new friend, deciding to follow the bird and see where the golden powder came from. The bird flew, and Tomáš followed it; at times, it would stop to rest, and the bird would land and peck the seeds Tomáš had prepared. After a long journey, they arrived at a cave by a stream, which, upon entering, Tomáš couldn’t believe his eyes — it glittered with gold! Tomáš immediately told his father, and they began mining the gold, becoming very wealthy. When the king heard of this, he sent helpers who settled near the golden cave, and so the village of Zlatá Idka was born. As for the golden-feathered hýľ, when he returned to his own kind, they rejected him because of his golden feathers. He could no longer visit the cave, as it was crowded with people mining gold. So, he settled in a beautiful, quiet place between Hýľov and Zlatá Idka, where he built a nest. He found a mate who loved the place, and they lived happily there for a long time, with their children, and their children's children, living there to this day. And that place is still called Zlatý Hýľ. Here, we have created a place for relaxation, peace, and much more to please both body and soul with love and respect for nature... It is not possible to add an extra bed to standard and deluxe rooms. 2 extra beds can be added in the Executive and Superior Room and Family Suite.

Hotel rooms have air conditioning. The apartments in the chalets do not have air conditioning.

In our rooms we use beds of the highest standard and quality from Hästens and Hypnos. Interestingly, Hästens beds are also slept on by the Swedish Royal Couple and Hypnos beds are supplied to the King of England.
